Kos Island, Greece Oct 9, 2010 Arriving in a mini meltimi (screaming wind from the north), we were glad to get into the marina - except the marina seemed to be blasted by it as well...
Zia, Kos Island, Greece Oct 9, 2010 A lovely little village in the mountains of Kos- Zia is a very interesting bus ride up a winding road. If you were prepared, you could climb to the top of the mountain, but we were happy woth exploring the quiet cobbled roads between olive groves with tiny little churches and nervous looking goats... Fresh orange juice to wash down the dust and a local desert- candied tomatoes!
Pethi (Pedi), Simi Island, Greece Oct 4, 2010 Simi is a beautiful rugged island- it looked very desolate at the end of summer. The architecture is lovely- Simi- Greco (as John put it). Very hilly, we caught a bus into town- a picture postcard place with lots of tavernas and only a one lane road for use by all! The place we had dinner (John voted it the best anas (lamb) yet had lots of patient pussycats waiting for scraps. You should have heard the hissing when dad gave them his left over pasta!
