After a week of sitting around, trying to fix my computer and writing a grant application I finally have something to do! Edwin and I are going to start filming a documentary tomorrow (at 6:45am, ugh). Although I'm not excited about the time, I am excited about the subject. In the Central Region of Ghana there are twice as many schools as in other regions, however almost 80% of the population is illiterate. We are going to explore why this is and how we can change it in the documentary. Since I only have a week and a half left and no computer, we will be filming fast and then editing our documentaries separately. I was really down when my computer died because I thought I'd end up coming home with nothing to show for my trip. Now that I will have this footage and the idea to go with it I will be able to take my time and edit at home. I hope we can get everything done before I leave; I know how Ghanaian time works. This is more of the work I wanted to do anyway. The show I started on was cool, but I'm much more into social justice and community issues. Cross your fingers that everything works out and all my technology cooperates!
