Hey everyone!! well what can we say?? it has continued to be very interesting indeed! we went to stay with Mel's third cousin, Stu, and his family in the Kai Sung area of Hong kong on Wednesday, after having 'checked out' of our hostel. They had planned for us to go to Happy Valley horse races whuich was absolutely amazing and we are kicking ourselves for not having taken out cameras with us. It was unbelievable, floor to cieling glass with a first class view of the track accompanied by plenty of wine, beer , good food and excellent company.!!
We both had a flutter and came out on top, and then it was onto town with Stu and Kylie's (Stu's wife) father Ian. Right well they sure showed us how to have a good time and lets just put it this way, after the margharitas and Russian vodka in a -20 degree freezer it turned out to be a late night!!
The following day it wasn't a pretty sight infact most of it was spent wallowing in bed, oh yes and our room was great and it had windows!!!
Yesterday(Friday) Stu took us ouit on his boat around the waterways on the countryside part of Hong Kong, which it is only thanks to Stu and Kylie that we learnt this part of the region existed. I got sunburnt, but hopefully it will turn brown to start off my tan! We cruised out to a seafood restaurant where we tried squid and scallops..............suprisingly nice!
Last night we set off for Brisbane en route to Christchurch, but before we went to the airport Stu took us up one of the mountains to get an amazing view of the whole of Kowloon AND HK Island..........not done justice by our photos.
Thats about it up to date, we are currently writing this from Brisbane airport...........our connecting flight is in 5 hours. Still have no accommodation in Christchurch, oh well we will sort it when we get there tonight at 1000.
Lastly the rhumours are true...................the water does go down the plug hole clockwise in the southern hemisphere to put your minds at rest. It was the first thing we did when we got off the plane!!!
