I obviously woke up with a hangover (yet again) however i headed to the Koh Samui beach to take a few photos without any other tourists - it was beautiful.
We headed to catch the fast ferry to Koh Tao about 1pm and it was by far the worst form of transport invented by the Thai's. They have just had storms in the region and the journey was so rough that they handed out sick bags before we had even set foot on the boat. The first 30 seconds were entertaining but the rest of the 2.5 hour journey was like being on a rollacoaster for 2.5 hours.
There were approximately 70 people on the boat and i honestly believe that 50% of those people were ill (including me) and there was a poor girl on our tour who was ill for the remainder of the day.
When we arrived we headed straight to our private beach and had a good afternoon playing volleyball and chillaxing on the veranda with a good book. Its the first time i have spent numerous ours sitting in the hot sun and its felt like i was on a normal holiday.
Koh tao is a lovely island and the next day we went on a boat trip which included two snorkels around the reefs in the island and i saw loads of bright fish and it was really good fun and probably the best place i have ever snorkelled at. I cocked up though as i forgot to get an underwater camera to take pictures which is a real shame. after the snorkelling we went to the small island opposite Koh Tao where we climbed to the top to admire the fantastic view of the island and i got some great photos with the amazing sunny day (albeit slightly windy).
On the island they had a man made sand dune which was used to walk across to the local restaurant. But because of the wind the waves were going across the dune and you had to walk through the water up to your chest to get across holding the bag above you head (see the photos later) and it was really good fun.
We got back about 4pm so plenty of time for some beach action, shower and a massage 3 metres away from the sea (crashing of waves whilst having a massage was very relaxing). Well it was relaxing until someone in the hotel next door set some fireworks off - scared me to death.
In the evening i went to watch England get beat by the Kiwi's in the rugby which was disappointing, but from the read ups of the other matches an improvement. I even had to watch the match next to a welsh guy - typical!!
We ended up going to Karaoke afterwards and i managed to murder Daydream believer and let it be - the list of songs i have killed is getting a lot longer. After Karaoke we went to a beach bar and danced the night away with some locals and other travellers.
This morning we spent on the beach relaxing again and soaked up some more rays - this was the hottest day in Koh Tao so far. Unfortunately we set off around 3pm for the ferry - luckily the ferry ride was a lot smoother and only around 30% of the passengers were ill lol - not including me this time. There was a couple eating a massive meal when we first arrived on the boat and within 30 minutes they were throwing up - how stupid were they!??
We are just about to get on a night train tonight back to bangkok befor ei head to Singapore tomorrow night for the last leg of my trip. I am starting to get think i have to go back to work in a week and back to the UK weather - I think i will need to book next years holiday in January to make sure i don't get the blues after Christmas. Oh god i need to buy crimbo presents too - Can't i stay here?
