Here I am in Shanghai, Cina. The journey from my flat in Hamburg to my new appartment here in Jing'an worked perfectly. No delay, no lost luggage, I had a full row on my own during the 11 hour flight from London to Shanghai, my driver was in time to pick me up... So nothing to complain about really... Apart from that my plan to sleep during the flight didnt work out too well. I managed probably 2-3 hours tops. Nevermind. Sleep is highly overrated anyway.
My appartment is lovely! Its on the 27th floor and from my window i can actually see most of the famous Pudong skyline you can see on the picture. Unfortunately, it was plain dirty when I arrived and features no kind of cleaning utility. well the latter might explain the other ;-) Nothing one cant cope with. I found a supermarket close by, got everything i needed and spent a few hours cleaning. I even tried to clean the windows to be able to enjoy the view properly... Well, seeing that I am slighty scared by heights I now have only half clean windows as i didnt dare to open them fully for my cleaning operation...
Another slight flaw of the apartment is that the washing machine is in Chinese and the landlady didnt speak any English at all so couldnt explain its function to me... However, one of my colleagues picked me up Monday morning to show me the way Schenkers office. She was so kind to explain it to me, so thats sorted now. Will give it a try at the weekend if I manage to find the right washing powder ;-)
