Hello Shelia & Brucie Readers,
We're still loving Australia and the great weather we've been having! We've now purchased a new memory card for our camera so can finally upload some piccys! Has been about a week since our last update, so if this rambles on feel free to skip it - ha!
Wednesday 26th Jan - Got up early so we could do (at Danny's request) "The Neighbours Tour" - I found it extremely boring to be honest but Danny was in his element lol Anyway we got some snaps etc and found out some extremely interesting facts, like: How many people have got married/murdered etc!
After the tour we went to an Australian Day Fun Day at a park which was really good-especially watching the little kiddies dance battles (video to upload)
Thursday 27th Jan - I managed to get myself a hair trim from Danny's friend Stergo who is currently doing his hairdressing course in Melbourne, afterwards we had some lunch and said our goodbyes before catching an hour flight to Sydney; once there we checked into "Wake Up Hostel", which was actually really good - lots of 241's on drinkies and a good game of pool "Killa" (unfortunately neither of us won the 150$ bar prize :(
Friday 28th Jan - In the morning we did the Sydney City Tour (organized by the Wake Up Hostel) and saw the Darling Harbour and Opera House - where we had a coffee and did some post card writing. Afterwards we headed back to the Hostel, where we organised our trip up the east coast and now we finally have everything booked, including our Fraser Island 4x4 drive and Whitsunday Sailing trip! Caught a train to Newtown then and met Tara and Mary in a busy pub called "The Bank", where we had a few wines and then, (for the first time since we've been away) had Fillet Steaks!
Saturday 29th Jan - Tara and Mary took us to a swanky cafe for breakfast and dropped us off at Bondi beach, where we got swallowed up by dozens of massive waves - really fun though! After we did the coastal walk to Cogee which was lovely but exhausting in the hot weather (thought I was going to keel over at one point!) In the evening we had dinner at a club house overlooking a lovely bay and met up with close family friends, Sharon and Mickey - drank a few glasses of bubbles and had a good catch up!
Sunday 30th Jan - Sharon, Mickey, Molly & Paddy collected us from Tara & Mary's and we had a lovely breakfast overlooking the sea at a place called "Balmoral". Afterwards, Danny and I went to "Manley", which is a really lovely town (got some great snaps) and then met Tara & Mary for drinks at "The Rocks", which is a busy part of Sydney, and full of busy bars. In the evening we watched the Murray match back at Tara & Mary's and packed our bags ready for the 7am greyhound bus the following morning.
We both had a fabulous time in Sydney - was lovely to catch up with family friends, who looked after us so well! I think we stayed there just long enough to see the special parts but would definitely like to return back in the future.
Cutting this blog short now as I will write a new and separate blog entry for Port Stephens...
Chow for Now!
