Sorry for the delay guys but we are now staying at helens bfs cousins house in brisbane so we have full unlimited access to the internet at last (and 2 small puppies by our feet to keep us company whilst we type!) so we can fully update you on our travels!!
Anyway still in sydney and after a lovely day on thursday of pure sun we woke up friday to dull and wet, standard!! Caught the train out to bondi junction which would have been really nice in 30c sun but it was a bit chilly to say the least so we "chilled" on the beach before heading to the shops, didnt think bondi was as nice as manly!!
Saturday we sorted out our travel arrangements and then headed to darling harbour to check out the long weekend fiesta which was a bit of a wash out as it poured all afternoon but we still managed to have a look round ( and ended up in yet another shopping centre!). In the evening we met up with our friend jess from the thailand trip and andy (garys friend from home) and went out in the centre of sydney to "star bar" which was an itneresting experience, lots of police around to catch the rowdy ozzies!!
Sunday we lied in after losing an hour to daylight saving and then visited paddys market a huge indoor/covered market area selling bags, clothes and millions of oz souvenirs!
Monday was our last day in sydney so we took advantage of the transport tickets we had and caught a ferry out to watsons bay and had some nice fish and chips on the waterfront. There wasnt much there but the views on the boat ride were pretty awesome! When we got back to the harbour we walked across the harbour bridge (not over as it was a tad expensive!) and checked out the luna park theme park on the other side.
On the tuesday we had time to kill as our bus didnt leave til 7pm so we went to the other side of town to check out the backpackers area of kings cross and randomly met our friend jess who convinced to walk around a free art gallery with her which was actually quite interesting. After we chilled in the sun at last! in hyde park although megan was slightly freaked by the amount of pigeons/general big birds!
Then we had out first greyhound experience which was actually pretty good. with lots of leg space for helen and a film to while away the 7 hrs journey!!
