Venice.. What a beautiful location in Italy. After experiencing snow in Munich we were greeted with some much needed warm weather in Venice. We began by doing exploring the city with our tour guide Piotre (he is our top deck tour guide). We walked through St Marks Square and had a look at various museums. St Marks Square was different to what I had expected. There were a lot of renovations going on but it was still spectacular. I couldn't believe how many pigeons were flying around. We went to a lace and glass demonstration which was very random but interesting.
It was then time to board our gondolas and set sail through the canals. I thoroughly enjoyed this but couldn't help but wish that Jared was there with me hehe. I loved watching the other gondolas glide by. Some of the gondolas had an Italian man singing on board. This was definitely one of my highlights of the trip.
After this, most of my tour group set off for lunch. We all shared pizza, pasta and wine. It was truly an authentic Italian tourist experience. The food was amazing!
Finding it hard to move after our big meal, we managed to go to the top of the clock tower and what a view it was! It was a 360 view of all of Venice. Such a beautiful part of the world. To finish the experience off, we had to have gelato.
Next stop, Rome and Vatican City. There is so much driving every second day but I do enjoy the scenery (when I'm not sleeping hehe). Before every stop our tour guide plays the same song to wake us up. I'm definitely not going to miss this song at all hehe (the song is Dirty- Christina Aguilera).
