Last entry for Sri Lanka-
Our driver dropped us off at our last stop here UNAWATUNA, and after a very sad, terrible " good bye", he took my Andy with him to bring him back to Colombo airport. The next 7 weeks without my boy will be very long 7 weeks, that's for sure.
We came down here to meet up again with Nat' s friend, her husband, his father ( who is Sri Lankan ) & sister.
Unfortunately the weather got worse. What was first Monsoon rain in Ella, turned into the Cyclone "Nalim" rain, wind, storm here. Luckily the storm was already on its way to India, but saying that- the last 3 nights were awful.
I never ever experienced that much rain. The wind was so strong, I honestly thought the roof would blow away.
The hotel is directly on the beach, I mean DIRECTLY. There are less than 5m between my bed and the sea. I hardly slept, the noise was insane and I constantly got up and looked at the raising waves.
The day times were a little better, rain stop sometimes and it was not as windy.
We found a little yoga place, were we now go every morning. Even managed to do my first stand on my own, without a wall....
Just something else nice to do, apart from eating.
The kids have been good.
Amelie, just 5 years old, is an absolute angel. I am of course her favorite auntie Marie. We founded a girls club and always do super cool things together. She is also a very interested German student and already knows more than her uncle Andy, who is my student for almost 8 years...! So Ami and I speak in our very special own secret language ( actually we use 3 words for 30min, but that's ok, it is very special :) )
Lucas, just 3.5, lives in his own little world with his very specific little will which is often quiet challenging.
But he has his sweet, soft sides as well and so he told me the other day: " Auntie Ma-wee, I will look after you, as Uncle Andy is gone" ... melt........!
The little beach town is very cute. Lots of amazing bars and restaurants. Most of them renovated due to Tsunami (most have some concrete walls somewhere, which was not existing before).
Again, lots and lots of wild dogs, which just hang out on the streets or on the beach. But at least they leave you alone..!
The hotel manager here asked me a few funny questions about Amelie being my daughter and how we all belong to each other. After a while it was clear, he though Andre was mine and Nat' s husband, and we both had a child with him.
Well, not so bad, after the Thais had thought I was Caroline's wife.....

Corbo So not only did Caroline steal my wife, but you now have yet another husband..... What can I say?!! Germans ;) Well done on the headstand by the way!! Love to the family xx
Maryfly Haha, Corbs H. Thais what i thought. My second new husband on this trip...lets see who and what else comes along. Miss u all, glad I left Sri Lanka. Country is nice, but the mentality of the people is really not for me...well, at least I was there. For sure never will go back.
Caroline Haha!! Already you are being unfaithful??? Too funny! It sounds like it was very touch and go there for a while with the rough weather but luckily it all went on its merry way! It sounds like you did and saw some amazing things, shame you didn't enjoy the people:-( I too think the head stand is pretty cool:-)
