So it's our first day in Thailand...
For the first time since leaving England we've had a real lazy day. It started with a lie in which was then followed by brunch at a French themed restaurant. After this we followed James for a 'surprise'. Slightly scared, we wandered into some hotel grounds where we stumbled across a fertility garden. You have to see the pictures to believe it!
Then we went back to the condo to sort out our Vietnam visa and to plan our Bangkok adventures. During this time we may have accidentally booked two nights on the island of Koh Samet for some sun time. :-)
We then went on an adventure to get some passport pictures for Laura's visa, popping into the 7eleven along the way, upon which we discovered that the photos she already had were already perfect. So actually what really happened was we went on a really long walk to get a sprite....
Later we went out to the Sky Bar for a drink on the 83rd floor. What a view! After this we found the stairs for the revolving balcony and trotted up. The changing light bulbs at the top altered our pictures as we took them, so they ended up looking like we'd used pink and blue filters. The view was even better, even if it was blocked slightly by the barbed wire effect!
To finish the day we went for some Thai food and a few beers. Yum yum.
On the whole Bangkok is very different to both India and England. Laura is in awe at how 'western' it is, but also understands that it possibly doesn't seem as different because she had the biggest culture shock first!
