I was ready to depart from BA and went to withdraw some cash as i only had 6 pesos( 1 pound) with me, however no cash machine would give me money, i figured my card must have been blocked and thought it wise to spend my 6 pesos on a phone call to the bank to unblock them. My cards however had not been blocked and i had just spent 5 50 finding that out. so with 50 cents in my pocket i boarded the bus to cordoba safe in the knowledge that any one who might want to rob me would be hugely dissapointed.
i deliberated long and hard about what i could do for money in cordoba, top of my list was juggling, but the kids here have kind of cornered that market so i hoped to befriend a pack of stray dogs and live amongst them for a while. just until i got back on my feet.
Arriving in cordoba i was slightly relieved to be able to withdraw money again however i wont lie, i did have my heart set on living with dogs for a while.
at first the hostel seemed pretty lame, and cordoba itself didn´t grab me instantly, so i decided to only stay for one night and head to iguazu the following morning.
as the day progressed i grew attached to cordoba and was dissapointed i had to leave, it´s a small city but has a lively and friendly atmosphere. the reason the lady at the hostel explained was "nosostros tenemos muchos estudiantes" or the amount of students living in the city.
i headed out of the city to the che guevara museum which is based in the house he lived in as a child. ´needless to say i loved it.
that night everyone in the hostel had a go at the climbing wall in the courtyard which was a nice chance to get to know people and afterwards 8 of us went for a nice dinner, en route i was attacked by a stray dog who i think was trying to steal my wallet, i think he resented the fact i didn´t choose to live with him and his friends. seriously though that dog was freaky, i´m at least 20% sure it was possessed.
i really enjoyed my brief stay in cordoba and i wish i had more time there to soak up the atmosphere but the road is long as mr obama said so i departed for iguazu on a 21 hour bus journey the following morning.
