So although this says Buenos Aires, i´m actually in Salta which is a city maybe 800 miles north of BA. This either means i´m too lazy to keep this updated or that i´m having such a great experience that i haven´t got time to document it all. truth be told it´s a mixture of both.
I landed in BA about 11 days ago after sitting on a cramped flight for twelve hours next to a rather large argentinian woman who loved talking to me, i didn´t have the heart to say "no entiendo castellano" so instead i just nodded along saying "si" where i guessed some form of response was nessercary. to my right sat a man who while he didn´t insist upon speaking did insist on sweating profousely. needless to say i was somewhat relieved to arrive in BA and be scanned for swine flu.
having left what was a lovely summers day in england i stepped outside the airport to a suprisingly chilly winters morning. looking like a total gringo with no idea how to communicate i somehow boarded a bus to the centre.
leaving the bus i realised i had no idea where i was and caught a cab, fumbling for my phrase book i asked the driver to take me to the hostel. an awkward silence ensued. i struck up a conversation with him about football, however my phrase book only taught me how to ask who was top of the league and when he started to talk to me about everything related i was lost and resorted to shouting my love for tevez to him.
i realise now if i continue writing this way about my whole trip i´ll be here all day so i guess i kind of just have to sum stuff up.
the hostel was nice.
the food was good
tango is awesome
the people i met were (insert superlative)
so then 6 days later and one limb short i was sad to leave Buenos Aires behind, after all the life changing events that had occured directly after that cab journey........ the end.
