The final day of our travels was a busy one. We decided that we would explore the Kowloon area & see what it has to offer.
We started by seeing the disturbing Yuen Po st. bird gardens. This was more of a market than a garden, where loads of tiny birds are crammed into small cages & sold. You can also buy bags of locust to feed to your bird. Although the cages were very small, they were very detailed & pretty.
From here we moved on to look for the 'Golden Computer Arcade'. The street this shop was on was brimming with loads of rad Nintendo items, so as you can imagine Maz was in her element. After purchasing a few Nintendo based items we went into the computer arcade. It had everything a computer geek could ever dream of, three floors filled with individual markets competing on prices.
The metro took us down to the 'ladies market', which was filled with more competitive bargains. All this shopping was hard work & tiring, so we took a break back at the hotel to recharge our batteries for the evening.
We started the night down at the docks to watch the light show on the harbour, which was not as impressive as we had hoped, but they did have a lot to live up to after seeing the lights of Vegas! The rest of the evening was spent wondering the 'Temple street night market', where we also got some excellent sweet & sour chicken!
Eventually, we ended up back at the hostel around midnight for some brief, well earned sleep, until we had to get up at 5am to get a bus to the airport for our final flight back home to end our travels...
