Sat 4th Aug - We finished woodward and managed to get a lift from a pro skateboarder called Benji all the way to LA. We hung out with him that evening and let him show us some sites of LA. He first took us to a Vietnamese resturant where he paid for us to try Pho - A beef and noodle soup and we finished it up with an iced Vietnamese coffee that gave us the buzz for the evening that we didn't forsee...

Benji then got a call from some friends who invited him to a VIP magazine party in the Hollywood HIlls. He invited us to come of which we off course accepted with glee! It was at a massive house that had and outdoor pool, jacuzzi and custom made mini ramp just for the party. We were informed that there was free food and an open bar that we took full advantage of. 3 LA bands also played on the roof of the house, one of which we watched whilst swimming in the pool. The night ended with us all sleeping in Benji's car.

We woke up and Benji drove us straight to a hotel near LAX where we were picking up our work id's for working at the X-Games (the extreme sports equivilant of the olimpics). Whilst in the hotel we blagged leaving our luggage and getting a free shuttle bus to the venue and back. Whilst working at the X -games we saw many amazing things including Sean White winning the mens vert and Tony Hawk strutting his stuff. We blagged a free lunch and earnt 4cd's (that we wanted anyway) by recycling some plastic bottles.

Once back at the hotel we further managed to blag a shuttle to LAX where we picked up a rather nice Potiac G5 as our choice of rental car from Alamo (we first picked out a not so nice Chevrolet Aveo but it had a nail in one of the tyres that I fortunately noticed). We had planned to pick it up in the evening but managed to get it a couple of hours early leaving us some spare time to check out Santa monica for dinner.

After looking round the pier and eating a delicious teryakki burgers from Rusty's diner we hit highway 15 to Vegas...
