Just before crossing the boarder from Colorado to New Mexico we stumbled upon a random drive in Cinema which we just had to take advantage of. There were two options on the menu, The Simpsons Movie (which we had seen in Colorado) and Transformers. We ordered with the latter.
With our home made chicken ranch and salad sandwhiches in hand that we'd pieced together from supplies bought at a market we tuned our radio into the correct frequency and sat back to enjoy the movie. It's quite an expierince watching a film from your car with lightning stricking on the horizon behind the screen. Plus points of being in your car means you can have the volume as loud as you wish and neighbours can't hear you talking/laughing over the movie.
After the movie our car turned from a cinema to a hotel with one swift move of a sleeping bag. In the morning we headed out to Taos (rhymes with mouse), Santa Fe and Albequerque in New Mexico. It is a lovely small version of spain mixed with mexico with a dash of paris thrown in, full of artists and galleries and ornaments you didn't know you wanted.
We are currently in a trendy bar/restaurant/hair dressers/internet cafe catching up on all the blogs we have missed. Sorry if it has been a mamouth read!!!
Now we are heading off for a real mexican dinner and then we plan to head west towards window rock and Arizona. See you there!
