Hi again..............another update for you all, so hold your breath and get ready for another weeks adventure!!!! Set off from San Francisco in our actual Hire Car (hehe), did you like our last photo!!!! Gave the mums a fright!!! 2 Hr drive to Sacramento, got there around 3pm and headed straight for Capitol Park to soak up a bit of the sun.....didnt last long as it was over 100 degrees, totally melting!!!!! Next day headed to Lake Tahoe, another long drive but totally worth it as you will see from the pics. Lake Tahoe is set in mountains 7,000 feet up and at the beach you are talking again over 100 degrees (in a heatwave at the mo!!!) but as you look up you can see the snow on the peaks of the mountain, out of this world!!!! Went up in the Gondola which takes you to 9,500 feet and again have a look at the pics, they say everything, this is what we came travelling for!! Headed for the Irish bar that night and once again a liitle too much of the old Californian wine......need to stay out of the Irish bars, they seem to have an effect on us as you will see from the after pic. Ate like backpackers for most of the time we were there, supermarket for us, so we are getting into the swing of it.....ruined that by the end of our stay, couldnt keep away from the steak house....oh and greg got his 1st taste for the casino's (more of that to come!!!). Met a guy from Morcambe of all places who had lived in Lake Tahoe for 10 yrs when we were up at Vista Point at Emerald Bay. He told us to go to Cascade Falls, a short 2 mile hike (pretty flat, so he told us), the views would be worth it. headed there on our last day and he was totally right about Cascade Falls, although totally wrong about the flat hike!!!! Red faces all round when we had finished, maybe shouldnt have went to the steak house the night before!!!!! Now heading on our long journey throught Death Valley to Las Vegas (and when we say long we mean long, 8.5hrs)...luckily the old shabby car wasnt really ours or I dont think we will make it!!!!!!!
