Max & Dean Year Out 05/06
Hola everyone. Hope you are all well and looking forward to our pending arrival (those of you in the UK anyway..)
Only about 7 weeks to go
In Nazca today, a dusty little town about 4 hrs drive from Lima. Went out in a light aircraft this morning to see the lines from above. The shapes and lines are completely mad - really very impressive. Enjoyed the trip despite feeling a little queasy from time to time as the planed banked very hard from right to left. I had no idea that I suffered from motion sickness until this trip. Maybe the whale watching trip opened a can of whoop a$$ vomit - so to speak.
We travelled here yesterday from Huacachina which is a little town in the desert, everyone goes there to sand board and soak up some rays. Did a dune buggy ride and some sand boarding - the most fun trip ever- was brilliant. Driving up and down massive sand dunes at breakneck speed - sand boarding provided a few laughs as well. One woman tentatively lowered herself over the edge of a dune - she managed to hang on for a few meters after which her and the board parted company. She rolled around in the sand for a while and everyone laughed as her board slid on down and reached the bottom of the dune. Ha ha - Shame on her ... Shame on me....I had the funniest and most embarrassing wipeout of the day. Never mind. Cannot wait to try it on snow...
10hr bus journey this evening to Arequipa...have paid for a decent ticket tho. No more pissy busses for us!
See you xxx
