Auckland...

Arrived in Auckland on Dec 8th after 3 month in Australia... The trip from Brisbane was a nightmare as I had real probs with my stomachs since I woke up in the morning.... NZ is 3 hours ahead of Austraiia in Summer and 12 hours ahead of Germany. Could not check in the hostel because it was past midnight so I had to stay a night in another hostal and change hostals the next morning... Moved to a really nice place called Bamber House in Mount Eden.

Mount Eden is one of the 48 volcanoes Auckland is built on and from the top you got a really nice view over the city and the islands surrounding Auckland. Auckland actually is a "flat city" there are not many skycrapers but altough NZ has got only aprox. 4 mio inhabitants (x live in ALK) it is one of the 10 biggest cities in the world.

Opened my bank account and applied for a IRD (Taxfile) Number and started looking for a job and a van but as we are in peak season it is not as easy as I thought it would be. Have spend most of my first week looking for jobs but without success, really need to get out of the city and into nature asap.
