O tour----YOU BE SO CRAZY-----
So here is a South Dakota run down---we arrived T Giving night in Watertown, after a 10 hour drive in da Big Gold Bus, after stopping in the Twin Cities for our big ass T Giving meal. Well, we stayed at a hotel with a big ole Casino attached. But I was glad as HELL we were only there one night...yea, I love a Casino, but this one reeked of cigarette smoke, and the slots were showing me NO LOVE. Also, we were goofing around in a gift shop taking pictures, and boom! A security guard had to be called in to make me delete my pics. He was nice and all, and I was told it was the whole "cannot take pics on Indian Reservation/casino territory" thing....but seriously, we were NO WHERE NEAR THE DAMNED casino! Whatever! Also, I am really stoked to get back to a hotel that gives a free breakfast again---that is a perk I have missed over the past few days!
Okay---so venue update--- yesterday we were at The Goss Opera House in Watertown....and according to our tech director....that will be the last time this lil gem is a stop on a Troupe America tour. Our poor hard working, sleep deprived crew had nothing but trouble from this place, from communication, to load-in---it was all a fresh pit of HELL for them. Now we had 2 completely packed houses who were nothing but amazing.....but the place itself. The stage was bumpy, uneven, and a complete dust bowl, and cramped as HELL! After 2 performances, we all (especially myself and Lisa who have to actually get down on the ground) were the filthiest CBL's you ever saw. I will say that I definitely felt like a real farm woman! Also, and this is the joy of tour....we all had to change in this apartment literally under the stairs of the stage----one of our cast kept referring to us as "The children under the stairs"! Now, I will say the Opera House itself was cute as hell, and we got to see some of the fun lil Christmas parade.....so it was an interesting experience---ONCE! O, and yep, the food they made for us for dinner was pretty amazing!
Today was a whole new story-----yesterday we were on a postage stamp....today a football field! The Washington Pavilion in Sioux Falls is amazing---a 3 tier theatre, and thank GOD for the signs pointing to the stage, dressing room, and green room....because otherwise I felt like Spinal Tap trying to find my way around!
So we banged out 2 today---and only one tomorrow---AND WE DON'T HAVE TO CHECK OUT OF OUR HOTEL till early Monday AM! It feels like a mini va ca! So now I need sleep since I promised Becky some ZUMBA at 10am! Peace!
