Arrived at the Siam City Hotel, Bangkok around 12 noon and had a wonderful buffet lunch of French and Thai food, then got on the skytrain to go shopping at MBK shopping centre.
MBK Shopping Centre
Couldn't find any clothes to fit me in the department store as they were having a sale and only had small sizes so I wandered out into the arcades which were divided into several zones and levels. I bought a pair of silver gecko earrings.
I got lost in the maze and felt claustrophobic, almost panicky. Then I thought I would be okay because I saw signs to the skytrain. However I ended up at a different skytrain station and luckily I found an English speaking railway guard who told me I had to change trains at Siam. I got back to Praya Thai station and was pleased with myself until I came out of the exit and didn't know where I was. I crossed the road which was a nightmare (4 lanes of motorbikes and cars on each side) and there was a wire around the median strip so I was stuck. I almost had a full blown panic attack until I found a u turn sign. I was 2 metres off the road climbing around a narrow ledge with a big hole in it. I managed to climb around and cross the road and walk back to the hotel. What a friggin nightmare!!
Had a foot massage at the hotel which cost 1,900 baht, not 200 baht like in Koh Pha Ngan. I needed some soothing after my ordeal. It was a great foot massage for an hour by a sweet, young girl who told me I was beautiful and she liked me. I felt relaxed and tired and had a room service dinner. Just had to have some Australian lamb.
