After spending a week in Chiang Mai with ells its was time to head for the fast-paced Bangkok but not before watching a traditional Muay Thai fight, it was brutal !!!!!, the Thai fighters are so composed and focused , even the rugrats are on the ball, the music was buzzing around the arean and the Thai warriors where on form, the 2 fighters who challenged them (french and australian guys) where beaten , watching the form of these fella's was amazing, they are so focused and go into a fight with 1 thing in mind, smash the guy in front !!!!, iv got some vids , have a look, so back on the night train to Bangkok and we hoped to head for Ko Chang island for ells last week of her travels but the weather was a bit funky and she decided to head home a week early, we stayed in Bangkok 2 days more and decided to have 1 last trip this time to Tiger temple in the west of Thailand, the story with the temple is a monk many years ago was given a baby tiger who's mother was killed by poachers and the baby who would have probably died soon after was rescued by the monks and taken care of (respect), soon after people realised that the monks where like parents for the poor animals who where in need or used on the streets to beg, the monks had land where the animals can roam and with time he allowed people to visit the tigers and even sit with them, his future plans are to use all moneys to build a big tiger island to help the animals and give them peace and a home, i know the animals should be in the wild but fact is people will poach them and their life sadly to say would not be long in the wild, i admire his work and as long as he does not use the animals as a money spinner and keeps his original dream of helping these amazing animals, i and many others will respect him and the other monks for thier love and care of animals, so when we arrived it was amazing to see the size of the big cats, some of them double my size, and we could sit beside them and give them a belly scratch now and then, i never thought i would ever get to sit beside a hugh tiger and scratch its underbelly, so the staff where taking pics for us, so have a look at the pics (when i put them on), we then headed to see the cubs and man these where cool as, they played around just like a baby animal would, playing and toy fighting with each other, i got a little vid of them, the other animals the monks care for where the african lions and little bear, all these animals have been brought to the monks for help and most of the cubs are ofsprings from the original tigers, we spent a few hours here and donated a few bucks for the cause of the animals, 1 thing that made me chuckle was seeing a monk with an ipod on, he was just chilling away sounding off, the only monk iv seen with an ipod i have to say, so the day was over and i managed to get us a lift back to Bangkok about 2-3 hours away and then it was our last night together before ells left for home , we had a few beers then that was pretty much our day, so staying near the Kosan rd , its 1 funky place to be, ping-pong shows on tap, and you can buy almost anything on this wild road, take a look at our pics of the tigers they are stunning.see ya.
