Just a short entry.
We managed to make all 3 connecting flights, even though all three were delayed. Got to Bangkok and jumped in a taxi to head to Kho San road, where all paclpapers end up! Roads are so ,uch nicer than in India, all together feeling more comfident about the upcoming month.
Found a hotel and set out for a wonder along one crazy road! Packed full of bars, backpackers, shops, stalls, tuk tuks, everything you can imaginf on one street. Its Thailands equivilant of Camden really!
After a rest we headed for some food, and on our way back to our room, we bum,ped into 3 people we knew from Uni that had just started there 6 month trip. Made us feel better as they were going through the same feelings we had a month ago! Ended up spending the next coupke of hours in a bar with them, including trying the legendary Sam Sung (still don't actually know what its called!) But it is basically a cocktail in a plastic bucket, v.popular!
Yesterday (1/03/) we set off with our new 2 day travel companions to see the Grand palace and the Emerald Budda (actually green, and very small) . Both of which are some of the most famous religous sites in Thailand. Managed to walk there and back, and Indulged in a McDonalds!!!!
We have now booked a flight onto Ko Samui for tommorow (3/03) and from there we will do some Isalnd hoping and hopefully a dive course. Enjoying everything so far, and its nice to be out of the sand for a couple of days!!
