So we are now in Langkawi having spent a few relaxing days in Pangkor, there is not a huge amount to report as we have been doing pretty much nothing, having lazy days by the beach and eating lots of good Malay and international cuisine.
Pangkor was a nice little island with plenty of wildlife to keep us amused, when we were cooling off from the hot sun in the sea Matt noticed that someone was going through my beach bag, it was a damn monkey! The funniest thing is it did not care when we noticed and were running towards it but continued to go through the contents of my bag throwing the things he was not interested in to one side until we were too close to be ignored, at which point he decided to steal our camera an run off!!! Well it all turned out well in the end, Matt chased him up a tree and after showing his teeth a few times and scowling a little the monkey decided to give the camera back...thank god! Clever little b***** knew exactly what he was doing but made us laugh a lot.
After that we realised the monkeys were everywhere just observing the humans to see who left their belngings for long enough to try and find some grub!
We also saw a Monitor Lizard which is in the same family as the Komodo Dragon - it was huge and pretty damn scary looking so I did not hang about for a picture.
Anyways having spent a few days re-charging our batteries after our 4 weeks of City sight seeing overload we decided it was time to move onto Langkawi - the most visited island in Malaysia and pretty beautiful too.
We embarked on our journey taking 2 taxis, 2 boats, 2 Coaches and finally arrived 12 hours later in Langkawi, what a mission but definitely worthwhile.
We have again been doing not a lot here but have itchy fit so are going back to Singapore tomorrow and then on to Cairns on Wednesday.
We did manage to leave the little town we are staying at for one day and hired a moped to travel around the island which was pretty cool...we visited some nice waterfalls and saw lots of wildlife again as there is so much jungle here. Well we did not only see a chicken cross the road (everyone seems to have one here) but also numerous monkeys (very scary one chased us down the road) a snake and a family of wild boars.
We are both on a healthy eating kick having eaten like kings since the wedding and are only allowed to indulge on the weekends (rock and roll!) So yesterday we feasted on far too much food and a few vinos and met this random traveller dude who was the typical sterotype of a full time traveller and came with large dreadlocks and tie-dyed everything. He claimed to be 42 although he said he was born in 1976 which amused me and he started out by saying he loved the world and everyone in it and by the end of it was telling us how much he wanted to kill his ex-wife and her new man. Typical lost soul using travelling to run away from something or other - there are plenty of them about.
Anyhoos we have spent the day getting organised for Singapore and our onward journey to Oz and the deadline to start looking for a job in Sydney is looming.
We have plenty to look forward to in the meantime including finding a campervan to transport us on our mammoth journey from Cairns to Sydney dropping in on Great Barrier Reef and plenty more on the way.
We have loaded some more photos on here and hope you are all enjoying them...
Take care peeps and we will be in touch soon when we have more to report.
Lots of love
Nat and Matt xxxx
