Sea Day 2-30th December 2010
New Years Eve Eve! And one day until we arrive in our first port. The weather is gorgeous today. The seas are 10x calmer and the sun is out and it's pretty damn warm out there. Kids are packed into the pool by early morning and people are sunbaking everywhere.
We went and checked out the casino in the morning and had a little play on the pokies. Matt hadn't really tried pokies before because he's not a gambler, but he won $80 from his $10 so he was stoked.
Matt also came up with a flawless scheme in that we would "keep playing Bingo until we didn't win" (his words). I told him how unlikely it was that we'd win again, seeing as it was the first time I'd ever won, but he was excited by the first win and wouldn't be swayed. We didn't win. Matt declared Bingo to be "the s***test game ever" and that was that.
The afternoon was pretty uneventful. We relaxed out on the deck on the sun beds for a little bit, then got an ice cream and headed to our room for an afternoon nap. Holidays are great for napping.
As it became night Matt started getting excited that "tomorrow we will wake up and there will be another country there - out of nowhere!" (again, his words). He kept exclaiming this as if the country would appear by magic, and not that we'd just spent 3 days sailing towards it, but he was so cute I couldn't burst his bubble.
