Isle of Pines - 6th January 2011
We've just got back on board after visiting our final port on the cruise, Isle of Pines. It was absolutely beautiful. We were told that the best snorkelling would be here, so we were keen to check it out. They weren't wrong!
Crystal clear water, so you could see your feet as you walked and a sandbar out to the reef. The fish were EVERYWHERE! So many colours and shapes and sizes, they were absolutely beautiful. I kept going "OH MY GOD" through my snorkel, because I'd see an amazing fish and be so excited that I was really there, really seeing a REALLY REAL fish!
We snorkelled for about an hour or so then went for a walk around the island a bit, patting the local stray dogs and walking along the beach with the water on our feet.
Getting back on the tender boat to come back to the ship was a bit sad - this was the last time we'd touch the Pacific waters. But, that also means we'll be home soon, so I'm happy.
I've had an absolutely awesome time, but I do miss home. The next couple of days at sea hopefully won't be TOO boring, but we'll just use the time to relax and do nothing before we get home and *I* have to go back to work the very next day! (Matt has another week before he goes back.)
