Hi all,

We finally arrived in LA after a three hour delay sat on the tarmac at Heathrow with a faulty plane! Once we picked up our car at the airport we set off for our hostel, only problem was, we weren't really sure where it was and didn't have a map at all! So, after a fairly stressful drive, the purchasing of a map and probably some illegal driving from Matt, we arrived at our hostel at what felt like the middle of the night - jet lag had set in!!

We woke up in the morning to rain, so decided to drive down to Santa Monica and have a look around and to have our first American breakfast - yum!! We also managed a quick walk along Santa Monica pier between the rain showers although it was pretty deserted and closed up for winter. Next we drove along to Venice Beach again, this was pretty much closed down, so we headed along the coastal road to Malibu - 27 miles of amazing houses set along the seafront - wow! Journey back along Sunset Bld was really good fun, it's a really windy road, again with amazing houses, no celebrities spotted though!!

Better go for now, as we're in an awful supermarket using their free interent access, the people around us look like they're about to attack just to get a pc!!
