After Melbourne we flew to the Gold Coast as we had heard a lot about 'Surfer's Paradise', as it turned out this place is tacky as hell! THe beach is beautiful but unfortunately the two days we were there it was pretty grim weather- hot but rainy.

So we moved onto Brisbane for a few days. There isn't much to do in Brisbane apart from wander the shops (not fun without money), stroll along the waterfront (not very impressive) and chill in the botanical gardens. It was nice to relax for a few days.

We visited Steve Irwin's Australia Zoo which was fab! Although it was very emotional as they have a massive section dedicated to him with tributes and a very moving dvd of his life and family. The zoo is lovely we saw lots of crocs, snakes, hung out with the kangaroos, I hugged a koala and we watched a show in the Crocoseum! The people were not nearly as good as Steve! Croc's rule!
