right folks since the last update we have been on a thai cooking course in chaing mai our teacher was a ladyboy called waa waa it was a bit of a strange one but hey the food tasted good and we are now handy thai chefs, later that day we went to the temple doi suithep, its on the top of a mountain overlloking chaing mai and contains the ashes of the original budda apparently, it was a very holy place and the monks were chanting and stuff it was defo worth the visit. so the next day its was the start of our trek in the mountain rainforests of north thailand, on our first day we travelled to a village an hour away from chaing rai and stayed in a familys home for the night they made us a dinner and played traditional thai music and dancing while we ate, then it was bed time we had an early start to get to the jungle ny tractor cos no other vehicle could get to our drop off point. the fist day we trekked the whole day through the jungle, we stopped off for sum lunch at a waterfall it was beautiful, it was a hard days trekking in some stupid temperatures until we finally made it to our first hilltribe village. that night we stayed with the lisu tribe it was so remote and the views were wicked. next day we got up and went to the village school, the lisu people were so friendly and the kids at the school were a bunch of nutters they went mad as soon as we got there. after some wrestling and a game of footy its was time to leave the village and continue further into the rainforest right to the top of the mountain to the most remote hilltribe, the akka people. this village had no electricity and the akka were more like an old fashion tribe, they will eat anything they can kill, dogs, cats rats even some tourists! it went dark early that night so we all went to bed cos it was pitch black. nobody slept that night it was madness the noises going on, pigs screaming, cockrills crowing all nite and all the wild dogs in the village are just constantly fighting and raping eachother it was mad, but an amazing experience. on the last day we hiked all day downhill it was a killer the temp was 40 . we finalley made it to our pick up point and that evening we made it back to chaing rai and civilisation, that was yesterday and last nite we all celebrated our accomplishments by getting absolutely hammered and the teepee bar in chaing rai we all wore wigs and enjoyed a few well earned drinks and a wicked laugh. today we went to the golden triangle which is the place on the mekong river where 3 countries meet. thailand, laos, and bhurma. tonight is our last night in chaing rai we head back to bankok tommorrow some of the group are leaving before we start the south part of our adventure so we are going out in bangkok to say our goodbyes then set off for the south and all of thailands paradise beaches. if any of you have stayed awake to read to this point me and erin hope u are all ok and not missing us too much. until the next entry my freinds farewell!
