Hiya! - I was in KL 1998 - although when I was there, although the Petronas Towers have lights on every floor nowadays. Back then, it was shortly after the Asian Financial Crisis, and barely a quarter of the towers were occupied. Looks like it has all changed now. Although the drive across the country sounds scarily familiar...!
Glad all is working out well

Hi Matt and Cath, glad to see you both enjoying yourselves as you progress round the world. I could see you were chuffed after catching your fish.
Sally and I have just finished our first week back at work after our honeymoon on La Gomera in the Canaries. Awesome time on the island, good to finally be together in one place. Will forward on links to wedding photos. Cheers, R&S

Hello Bertrams! Just updated our site and then had a look at yours. You have seen so many amazing things!! Can't wait to meet up and see the rest of your photos. We are heading back to San Francisco tomorrow and we were thinking how funny it would be if we stayed in the same room as you guys at the Mark Twain. See you at the Davis Bangkok in 10 days! Our flight only lands at midnight, so we'll probably only see you for breakfast the next morning, but will text you. xx

Your adventures sound absolutely amazing. We've just set up our own blog and have been browsing through others. If you're coming up to Brisbane, head to our STA at Tinbilly Backpackers and pick our brains on stuff to do in Brisbane and surrounds. Enjoy the rest of your travels!

Hi Matt and Cath
Just popping in to say hi and thinking of you guys. Great pictures of Seaworld; loved those earings, Matt!
We went to fetch Bethany from school last weekend - she broke her ankle - can you believe it! She was running, slipped on the gravel road, and landed awkwardly. The school gave her permission to come home and finish writing exams from here because she wouldn't have managed the 1 km trek that they have to walk to school on crutches every day. Tomorrow, we are going back to LG to take Sarah her dress for the matric dance. Then we'll be bringing her home for the holidays on Thursday.
Much love to you both.

Hi Cath and Matt,
This is Hannah. Missing you lots and lots. But it looks as though you are having such a good time. Please say hi to Barbie at Disneyland and if you see Winnie the Pooh and Piglet please give them a hug for me as well. Con says if you get to meet Spiderman and Batman then you must get your picture with them for him!!!!!
I wish you could be here with us now! Lots of love,
Hannah

Hi Matt and Cath
Your pictures are really great - you guys are having the most amazing time. Seems like ages since we sent a message. I tried to send one last night, something went wrong and I lost the whole thing, so here we go again.
Lynne and the girls are well. We'll be going down to see Bethany and Sarah next weekend for Bethany's birthday - she's turning 15! can you believe it! We went to Joburg a few weeks ago to see them perform with their school choir at the Linder Auditorium at Wits. What and incredible evening. Sarah sang about 4 negro spiritual solos with the backing of the choir and a brass band. We were so proud of her. On the Sunday, she wowed us again at the St Thomas'Church in Linden. The choir was invited to sing at their two morning services. They sang Mozart's Coronation Mass and Sarah had to sing the soprano Agnus Dei solo and also the Laudate Dominum which were very challenging.
Keep the news and pic coming. It's really great to follow you around the world.
Much love
Gavin and Lynne

Dear Cath and Matt,
Hope you are both well and looking forward to moving on to yet another country on Saturday!!! Can you believe it is August already!!!! and that you only have 4 /5 months left of travelling!!! You've made it half way!!! Better than your brother would have ever done - are you sure you are related????
We are all well and spent a lovely 10 days down in Arniston - some of that time with my folks, La and Dave and then your folks too. It was good and we were on the beach when the weather was nice or otherwise wrapped up very warmly when it was bad. There is nothing to do, so you do nothing. La and I went off for a treatment at the hotel Spa - but I think she got my massage and I got hers - I had asked for a hard massage but she got it instead!!!!! It was nice anyway to be without the kids and husbands for a few hours and we spent time in the sauna and had lunch together afterwards. But back into real life again and that seems like a distant memory.
We were suposed to be spending the night at th Cape Grace tonight but your boet has gone and got food poisoning or something, so we are going tomorrow night instead - so I get to wake up on my birthday at the hotel - which is quite nice.
Take care of both of you, keep well and enjoy your next destination - Shanni loved Guatemala!!!
Lots of love,
Vix

Cath!!!!!! I have to agree with Sean - if that is a real snake I'll stand on my head the day I meet up with you in Bangkok.......
