I'm back in Goa again. I arrived two days ago in Margao after a very pleasant train ride. I was in A3 class which means there are 3 beds above each other and it's air conditioned. It's more expensive than the normal sleeper class and I got sheets, a towel and breakfast included and it was totally worth the extra money. I slept fabulously most of the 12 hours it took from Kerala to Goa and arrived nicely rested.
Once off the train I sat down to have a look in my guidebook to see where I should go. I decided to head for Colva beach, it's close to Margao and also close to the airport. It's not the best beach, but it's still a beach and it's got sun, sandy beaches and salty water just as any beach.
I got on a motorbike taxi, but after a few minutes he told me he couldn't go further because the taxi drivers were having a strike. He was really helpful though and waited with me until the bus came and waved it down for me.
When I arrived at the beach I sat down for a early lunch. I needed to find a place to stay and it's always best to tackle these things with some food in your stomach.
It appeared to be a bit of a fancy and touristy place so I ended up
paying more for my room than I'd wanted. But then again, I got a nice room with sheets and towels, hot water and tv included, so it was a good price all things considered. And those small luxuries are rare here in India.
I've been here a couple of days now, just taking it easy, reading, writing and catching up with myself after all the long bus and train rides of the past weeks.
It was so hot and humid in Kerala that it's a relief to feel the sea breeze again. I've been walking down the beach in the magical light of sunset splashing in the water and watching the birds and the dogs and the crabs.
Tomorrow morning my boyfriend is coming. He's on his flight right now and I can't wait to see him, it's been almost four months since I last saw him!
So it'll be an early morning for me tomorrow meeting him at the airport.
Xoxo
