Bye the way, what will you do about food if you are staying in a guest house while volunteering? Will youhave to buy your own food?
Mum
Great to hear from you, really pleased you sorted your c.card. You may have to phone the international number every country you go to?? because of fraud!
Khatmandu sounds a bit dubious. Can't be as bad as Delhi?
I'm so jealous you're going on an elephant, always wanted to do that.
Enjoy yourself with all the children - could put you off for life!!

glad to hear you are surviving with the food and rice wine they give you over there. i am doing the shop today so will be sure to start collecting culinary delights for when you get back - i am sure you will be delighted with beans on toast, curried beans on toast, fruity beans on toast and as an extra special treat sausage and beans (out of the same can naturally) and toast.
just watched an article on bbc news today discussing how many people have recently had problems with using their bank and credit cards when abroad due to increased fraud detection and prevention - card fraud is apparently 28% and most of it is in india!!
have you tried your phone lately?
Dad
hi mat
just had another chat with our wonderful friends at vodafone. they are going to completely reset your phone which will take 15 minutes from now (14:51 kathmandu time) and to retry once that done. but they again said it is more likely the lack of network coverage or availability in nepal. keepo trying and i will keep on at them from here. love dad
