Looking forward to seeing some photo's. Like Dad has suggested, you could always pay someone to do your washing! Funny how we all expected you to be living in tin shacks. although sleeping on boards doesn't sound very comfortable. Thanks for remembering my birthday, great to hear from you. Your last blog is very funny. We loved your choice of music!! I think you mean 70 children in the orphanage. Perhaps they can teach you some back flips? love you lots. mumxx

hi mat
sue and keith have been to pokhara and said you need to go higher and shower in the waterfalls (freezing cold but invigorating). pay someone to wash your clothes - a few rupees and they will be your friends for life.
stay fit and well! love dad
Nick
Hey buddy how is Pokhara doing? had a look at some stuff on the net, much bigger than i thought. i thought it would be no more than twenty tin shacks on a hillside, that lake Phewa looks nice with the mountains all around it. can't wait to see your photo's. not much going on this end. haven't really seen anybody. we may all go into hibernative like trance untill you return. hope your ok! much love

thanks for all the messages everyone! tomorrow im off to pokhara and the orphanage so will keep everyone updated when i can.
i definitely have to agree that if you want to cut down on spending whilst abroad, take out a natwest account!
rice wine is like sake, it was 60% where we had it the other night so pretty strong. lots of good pis from that night to come...
weather is really nice at the moment, must be about 22 degrees during the day, although it drops to under 0 at night.
met loads of cool people, some of them are going to australia so gonna meet up with them at some point.
i think i mentioned in my last blog that i was staying healthy and all, well, sod's law, come evening i got the delhi belly and was throwing up all night! feeling better now so should be 100% by tomorrow which is good. was bound to happen sooner or later so at least i know what to expect now.
was at the thai embassy in kathmandu today trying to get my visa for thailand, arguing with the visa lady for about 30 mins then bargaining with taxi man to take me back lol. bloody nightmare, but should be all fine now. anyway, thats all for now, speak to everyone soon.

Hi Mat,
I thought I'd learn lots from your travels - top tip no. 1: get a Natwest credit card to help stop you spending!
Good luck at the orphanage - after this entertaining Xander will be a piece of cake.
all our love,
Paul, Ruth and Xander xxx

Hey Mat, I'd send you some cash through PayPal but I think it's important you see a bit of the REAL world first ;). Kathmandu sounds interesting, hear you probs won't have net access once you get to the orphanage though, so thought I'd leave you a message now.
Keep plugging away mate, it might feel rubbish at times but it's so worth it. Take care.
