We are up early to tidy away for the ferry crossing. N+G say they're going to get diesel and will come back when ready to leave. We see their van turning around, pull out in front and set off, but after the first roundabout they're no longer behind so we continue slowly expecting them to catch up. It turns out Grete decided to go back into the shop while Nick turned the van. Via texts we tell them we'll meet at the port, which we do. Only about 60 vehicles board Armorique at St Malo and we leave on time at 12:30. The crossing starts with clear skies but half way it clouds over, the wind gets up to force 7 and it's a bit of a bumpy ride. Julian texts us with score updates of England v Australia [E37 - A21]
Lunch and later dinner, from the self service restaurant, are both decent meals. We dock in Plymouth at 20:10 disembark and queue side by side for border control. Leaving the docks Nick and Grete lead us into Saltash, to a parking spot they know, right on the water's edge beneath the two bridges.
We have a nightcap then settle down to sleep as the last few trains for the night rumble overhead.
