Today was our last full day in Sydney so we set the alarms for a early start to make sure we had enough time to see as much as we could however the snooze button on the alarms were continually pressed and we managed to oversleep (why was the snooze button invented? It's open to be abused!!). When we finally managed to get ourselves into gear and got going we decided to stop for a sneaky Starbucks breakfast. Sophie played her usual trick of not buying a drink and then deciding to drink all of my drink!
We realised that time wasn't our friend today and we had 30 mins to get to the Sydney Harbour Bridge for our morning bridge climb. We had no idea where we were or where the bridge was, this is not a good combination. We decided to brave it and wandered into the city trying to locate the bridge. We soon realised we had 5 minutes to get to the bridge and still had no idea where the bridge was when out of nowhere we saw the bridge in the distance!! We had to power walk the remainder of the way to ensure we made it to the bridge on time. When we arrived we were chucked into a small room where we were breathalised (yes we had been drinking the night before) and asked to sign a form to say if anything happens to us then the bridge climbing company were not at fault. We managed to pass the breath test and quickly suited up for our trip (we have photos of our awesome bridge climbing suits). We attended the discovery tour and so not only climbed the bridge but also were educated on the history of the bridge and famous buildings surrounding the bridge. When we finally left the bridge climb we were again talked into buying the "professional" photographs of us both climbing the bridge with a educational package of the bridge.
When we finished our adventure on the bridge, we headed to a small fancy restaurant for a nice SpagBol to build our energy levels up. Now that we were fully charged we decided to hit the Sydney Opera House. After a lap around the opera Sophie talked me into a tour, which actually turned out to be ok. We were again educated but this time about the opera. At the end of our tour we resulted in buying ANOTHER "professional" photograph" of us touring the opera with a educational package to go with it.
Time was running out so we headed to the Royal Botanic Gardens where we chillaxed and laughed about how much money we had spent on "professional" photographs. We left the garden and took a long walk back to our hotel so we could see as much of Sydney as possible. We had to make sure we were back in time to watch Batman 3 in the cinema though as everyone we met kept talking about the film and ruining it for us..... :)
