Wow! Made it to Darjeeling and it's an amazing place. Beginning to get a bit cloudy and hazy now but did have a clear view of Kangchendzjonga which is over 8000m. The road up here makes the switchbacks in the alps look tame. Shared a jeep with various locals and a man with 4 budgerigars he'd bought in town. Just when you thought you'd seen it all India throws something new at you. Off for a wander round town now and to see the train.
