A mere 21 hours after leaving Manchester, we arrived in Chiang Mai at about 11 o'clock last night. Typically, we didn't make it onto the plane in Manchester until the final call because we were having one last pint of Strongbow! They don't sell much cider in Asia!
We're staying at the Little Bird Guesthouse which comes in at a massive £2.58 each per night (we paid the extra to have en suite).
We got into our room and dropped our bags off then headed straight out to have a look around and get a quick drink and a bite to eat. We found a bar that Nathan had been to before called Beach Heaven which had a live band on and one beer quickly became two. We left the bar to get some food from a street chef and ended up in a reggae bar with another live band where we ended up chatting to an American girl who has been here for four years and a lad from Yorkshire who both live out here.
We had a few more drinks and when the reggae bar close we finished our night back in Beach Heaven before coming back to the hostel and crashing out.
Going to have a look around the town today and book ourselves onto the jungle trekking for tomorrow.
