Well after the relaxtion of the Town of 1770 I got back on the bus and headed to a cattle station a bit off the coast in a place called Kroombit. Here you got to experience the lifestyle of an Aussie Cowboy! I had a go at cracking a whip (which I succeeded in), lasooing, and riding a horse. The horse riding meant rounding up the goats so we could do a rodeo. Instead of the usual cows, which are heavy and hurt a bit, goats are used instead. It involves running round after a goat and pretend marking it.
After not much sleep in Kroombit I headed further up of Queensland to Airlie Beach, which is the gateway to the Whitsunday Islands. I started my sailing course and onto the Whitsunday groups we sailed. This is where Captain Cook sailed up on his adventure of Australia. It is loads of islands surrounded by coral. The sailing was tiring but good fun. There is so many words to learn, but by the end of the week everything seemed a lot clearer. I'm now off for a few days of relaxing whilst I decide next what to do. Off up the coast tomorrow and hopefully I will have my land legs back by then...
