Beautiful sunrise in the Tanami desert. Much better with very little dust coming in today. Tight for fuel today as it's 1100km from Alice to Halls Creek. Trying to get to Wolf Creek Crater for a camp tonight. Loaded all our Jerry's into the tank. We found the best for these corrugated roads was about 30psi in the tyres and 80km/h, any speed under 60 and you have no control over the car as the corrugations are too big.
With it too tight for fuel to go out to the crater and then on to Halls Creek we decided to head into Billiluna a small aboriginal community just off the Tanami Rd. Got there at 1.30pm(WA time) and there was 3 bikes and 14 4wd,s lined up waiting for the shop to open at 2pm for fuel. You had to pay for your fuel first and they gave you a card which you swiped and this dispensed the amount of fuel you payed for. $2.60 per litre. I only bought $70 to get me easily to Halls Creek. Took about an hour in the line up.
Got up the Wolf Creek and set up camp and plan to visit the crater in the morning and then head up to Halls Creek for fuel and a few supplies and the onto the Bungle Bungles for a few days.
