Left Katherine nice and early and stopped for breaky at Mataranka. After breaky we drive into the Bitter Springs National Park and had a swim in the thermal springs. This was beautiful with crystal clear flowing 33 degrees water that you could enter in one area and slowly float down to the exit.
We pulled up for camp at Banka Banka about 4pm and set up on a nice grassy site. There were lots of people here stopping for the night and the facilities were good for an old cattle station. Bob the manager said they open the "kiosk" at 6pm, interesting! After dinner we went over to the communal camp fire for a chat with the manager and staff and the other travelers. The "kiosk" was open and it was beer and bourbon only. Ha. Betty the calf joined us around the fire and we fed her some wheat bix. Enjoyable night.
