Hello all, hope everyone is well and had a fantabulous Easter break with way to much chocolate! Of which we are jealous as there are no easter eggs over here!
All is well here - we are currently in Koh Lanta in very southern Thailand - the Grand Prix in Malaysia was fantastic fun and Mark has some live action videos to upload, there was some rain which changed the outcome of the race for sure however the day was great and just to be there and hear the noise was good stuff.
After the Grand Prix we stayed in Kuala Lumpa for a few days, it's a pretty interesting place with some amazing shopping malls - makes you wish you still had an income (and for that reason Anton i guess at some point i will have to work again - darn it, but where .........who knows!). Then we moved on to an Malaysian Island called Langkawi which we had envisaged would be tropical paradise - hmmmm we were a bit off the mark - it was lovely and we did find a nice beach but much more geared to people staying in resorts so after 3 nights - one of which was a farewell night (we'd met a great bunch who we shared some fun times with) which involved some lovely drinks and company but some dreadful singing in our own private karaoke booth for 8 (Sam you would have loved it!)- oh dear but very funny, we moved on to Koh Lanta.
The trip to Koh Lanta was interesting as we had i think on last count 6 modes of transport (taxi, seacat, bus, tuk tuk, little ferry, van) but we made it safe and sound to a wonderful island which treated us to a monsoon downpour and lightning show on arrival but the next day cleared the skys and has been beautiful sunshine each day with electric storms and downpours at night ever since. We've already been here a week and will stay here for at least another - we've hired a moped and sped our way round the island looking for different beaches and bars to frequent - some days we are very tired from this so have a snooze in the afternoon!!! Some people we met here told us about a local animal sanctury that was set up in 2005 as so many dogs were left on the island after people came to help rebuild after the tsunami (they bought dogs with them and left them here when they returned home). So today we went over there to have a look around and took out 4 very sweet dogs for a walk to the beach and a quick swim - as we are here for another week we'll head back and take some more out.
And that is about it for now - Mark as usual has taken some great pics which we will upload soon - advance warning that anyone who meets us when we get home will be bored rigid with picture shows we have taken sooooooooo many photos! We do miss home but for the moment are content to stay out here a little longer! Thanks again for your messages it is lovely to logon and hear from you so as always keep them coming!
Happy Easter - Z&M x
