With HCMC behind us, we left Vietnam, finally our first Etihad flight. Those of you who have been with us from the start will be aware of the problems we have encountered getting out of the UK!
The flight, all 7 hours of it, was ok. The food was mediocre although I didn't take part as I was suffering again with "Yellow Rain Syndrome" and my new best friend Mr Imodium was close by my side. The flight e box, as Etihad call it, their entertainment system for the flight, was well stocked with films and TV programs. Even better, Andrea was flicking through and found a live sports channel..........it only had selective live Premier League games on, how good was that? Unfortunately, not the City v Fulham game, oh well, at least there was live updates from around the grounds. This and all the other programs made the flight go quicker.
We touched down in Abu Dhabi in the early hours, collected our bags and headed for our new base for a couple of days, the Sofitel Corniche Hotel. Again, this is another nice hotel. Shame the pool doesn't get the sun until 3, but you can't have it all. Here we just spent the final couple of days of this mammouth trip relaxing before heading back off for home. This mainly entailed walks along the prom , trips to the beach and a couple of shopping malls. A night we trauled the hotel bars and restaurants.
This has been an adventure and we all have our own little stories that I am sure you will get to hear about when we are all back. There has been so many highlights....ask Joanne and Denise about theirs
I hope you have enjoyed tracking us in our adventures around Vietnam, as much as we have.
Just one more thing to add before i finalise this tale. Thanks to Dave for all the planning, DW Tours may be called upon again, also to the rest of the adventurers that made this holiday.....thank you x
Next stop Blighty.
