Today was a much needed day at sea. After three straight days of getting up at 6:30am to be off the ship by 8:00am to spend the day in the heat and walking around we are both looking foward to a day of rest.
Beth still gets up kinda early and let's me sleep. This is good because I wasn't feeling well in the middle of the night. I must have eaten something that didn't agree with me because, by the time I get up I'm feeling ok.
We decided to sit by the pool again and just relax. The weather is great although since we are going around the 'boot' of Italy the Sea is a little rougher than it had been (which was like a bathtub for the past 4 days.)
At 1pm I decide to go see Nickelodeon Slime Time Live in the Epic Theather. Yep, I want to see two families compete in stupid human tricks and then get slimed with green goop! It is actually pretty funny (and even funnier when we run in the winning family on the tourist bus line tommorrow in Majorca.)
I then also go see The Blue Man Group without their makeup in a question and answer session. It is actually pretty interesting to hear them talk about how the show is produced, how they train and other behind the scenes stuff. One of the "blue men" actually performed with the National Shakespeare Theather for a few years before becoming a "blue man." His mother must be really proud. LOL They actually all seem like they like their jobs a lot and have no regrets. I guess it's like anything else; you find what your good at and do it to the best of your ability. Even if that means stuffing as many marshmellows into your mouth as humanly possibly or playing with twinkie cream.
We go to dinner at the French Restaurant (Le Bistro.) To put it mildly Le Bistro was Le Sucky! It was not worth the upcharge and the manager actually realizes it because I send back my first dish (Duck, which was like rubber) and barely push the replacement pork loin around on my plate. Desert is passable but, again not great. At least the manager removes my 'up charge' from the bill. I'm ready to hit the buffet and get a hamburger but, I resist. Skipping a meal will do me some good.
We then go to see Howl at the Moon in the Headliners Club. It's a dueling piano show where the audience requests songs (by filing out little slips of paper) and they do their best to sign them. They are really very good and can sing virtually any song thrown at them. We watch and listen for over 1 1/2 hours and have a really good time.
Off to bed. Last port tomorrow in Palma de Majorca, Spain. We can feel that vacation is coming to a close.
