Yet again I have lucked out with travelling comrades, there's a mix of Aussies, english and germans, and they're all pretty sorted down to earth people. Luckily two of them are nurses, so my next 4 rabies injections are covered, and they have hyperdermics, how prepared is that!
After leaving Delhi we headed for Agra and the Taj Mahal. The company I am travelling with Intrepid place an emphasis on using local transport and supporting local business and industry, so we were taking the train - there was a two hour delay, well we were expecting it, we're on India time now.
We got to the Taj Mahal for sunset (when It's supposed to turn pink), unfortunately, there was too much pollution, so this amazing spectacle never materialised; and despite the millions of people, I shared the moment with, the Taj truly is a sight to behold - pretty mesmerising. By the time we got inside, the sun had set, and they don't have lights at the Taj, so it was pitch black. Everyone was screaming, and tripping over the many steps, I really can't believe they let people in like this, but all I can keep saying is I guess that's India. Then we saw some fisticuffs, two Indian men having a proper brawl, surrounded by school kids shouting what I can only assume is the Indian version of fight, fight, fight! Not sure what anyone could be fighting over at this mesmerising place, but this has been a first for me on so many levels.
