landed in bangkok at 1:15am and unfortunatly stood in the que for immigration longer than our flight actually was! after 2 hours 30 mins of waiting around we finally got our bags.
We treated ourselves to a nice hotel on the first...our excuse, anoushka had to get root canal done after only 3 hours sleep so she needed a nice hotel to recouperate for the rest of the day lol. After a lovely afternoon spent in bed ordering room service and catching up on some sleep we checked out the next day and headed for the famous Kho San Road.
Kho San Road-a small road rammed with clothing stalls, bars, people, food stalls, restaurants, tailors, hotels, travel agents,7-11 stores, neon lights, loud music, people shouting, people people watching....and even a uk boots store! which i enjoyed looking at all the uk products...oooh theyve got charles worthington shampoo....ooh the sanctuary body lotion lol.
The next day we got in a tuk tuk to take us round a few of the temples then later on to a market. If a tuk tuk driver takes you to sights usually you have to stop off at a tailors pretending your kind of interested in something then the tuk tuk driver gets a voucher for pretol. So, we went into one tailors 5 mins later we came out but the tuk tuk driver said we did not spend long enough in the shop so he did not get his voucher. so off we went to another temple then to another tailors, this time he got his voucher. We then went to another temple and the tuk tuk driver said he would wait outside, we went outside and he was nowhere to be seen!......we were left stranded without a clue where we were! luckily we saw the funny side and realised he disappeared as he had got his petrol voucher which we later learned was more than the fare we had agreed with him.
visted the grand palace and other tourist sites and also the tiger temple. Bangkok is a busy busy city, its ok for a few days but then you want to move on.....so we booked a night sleeper bus to chang mai
