On our last day in New Zealand we spent most of the day trying to squeeze everything we could into our bags, but had to resort to throwing some things away! Honestly, packing our bags is something of a magical trick, an amazing feat! From New Zealand we flew for 11 hours to Santiago, Chile, where we had to wait for around 7 hours in the airport. But, as we landed we had the most amazing views of the mountains, all covered with snow. After a short 4 hour skip north we finally arrived in Peru and checked into our hotel, which is a really old rambling building in the centre of Lima, full of huge paintings and sculptures. Our spanish is getting there slowly, thanks to a very patient and a little bit crazy, taxi driver. We know the basics like 'hello', 'yes', 'no', 'I would like...', 'I go to...', 'thank you', 'where is...?' and 'it's expensive'! But the locals speak mainly Spanish, so that has to improve quite a lot!!
