This was the longest bus journey so far we were to be on the bus and heading out for 7.30am and wouldnt arrive in switzerland until about 5pm :( I slept a lot on this train journey due to A - it being such a ling journey and B - i was a wee bit tipsy last night and hadnt had chance to fully sleep it off and C - my bites were making me ill :(. We stopped at a service station just inside switzerland and had to withdraw some money out of the cash machine as it was the first change in currency to swiss franks, bought myself a lovely soggy sandwich and some crisps i needed sometjing greasy tho i had a bit of a hangover/ i wanted a fat day! The view from even the car park at the service station was amazing huge mountains everywhere, little did i know it was going to get a lot better. As we were driving in through the mountains i went up to the front of the coach to take photos as the views were breath taking also w slightly terrifying being in a massive coach with sheer drops on the side if the roads and really really dangerous looking roads with bends everywhere! When we arrived out hostel was the sort of sore thumb in the area which was a shame it was bright blue where every other hotel/ hostel had sort of made the effort to blend in with the log cabin look, oh well it was a bed for the next two nights and thts all that mattered. We had a free evening meal including when we arrive to out hostel, so we dumped our s*** got ready and walked to the restaurant just over the road to have out meal, which was actually quite nice we had salad for started and some chicken, veg and potatoe thing and some cheesecake thing for pudding we did however have to pay for tap water if we wanted it :/ hell no ill just go dry i know is been told switzerland was expensive but i diddnt expect to be charged for tap water :/ we eat our meal and b*****ed off to bed as there wasnt much else to do it was a tiny village that im sure we only stayed because it was right opposite the train station for the train up to jungfrau the next day cost an arm and a leg like the equivelant of €148 to go to the top of europe but it had to be done :). We had our breakfast the next morning and had wrapped up rediculously warm for the snow that would be facing us up the mountain, the weather was pretty s*** :( soo cloudy we couldnt see a thing no mountains nothing! We took the tiny 5 min walk to the train station and Gayle handed us our Jungfrau passports which we could aparently get stamped at the top, we go our own private carriage on the train and off we went seeing absoloutly nothing most of the way up haha we stopped at a 'photo'point which would have been amazing photos had the windows not been dirty, we had another photo point which was a little better it looked absoloutly amazing and unfortunately my photos dont do it justice. We reached the top of Jungfraujoch a huge 3,571 meters above sea level. In the building that was up on the top of the mountain there was a sort of route you followed in order to see everything as there was an 'ice palace' and a couple of viewing points. We set off on the route seeing the usual museumy boring stuff and also totally random stuff the made no sense like a carving of a cow out of wood :/ and a massive snow globe, anyway we got to our first lookout point and wow what a view! It was only a little windy here which was nice but also funny when some womans hat blew off and fell all the way down :p we got some photos then went back in to go throughthe revolvings doors which were no longer revolving haha theyd got stuck and what a place to get stuck! Ally who was on our trip was feeling really ill with the altitude bless her and being stuck outside wasnt going to help a whole lot, we managed to just slowly push our way through the doors im sure breaking them a little but they were clearly already not the greatest. We then came through to the ice palace which was sooo cool and allys shoes were not even slightly grippy so it was also hillerious! :p we got some photos as there was a few carvings had a dance and a skidding match and them headed on to what would be the swiss flag at the top of the mountain. Once we got to the top there was a double door to get out and off we went all confident in the fact we were all wrapped up OMG it was sooooo cold the wind was horrendus and my stupidity of leaving my amazingly warm gloves in englnd was really affecting me now especially when i wanted to take photos which was of course the reason we'd all gone there. After jumping about like a t*** in front of the flag to get a photo I was done i felt like id been punched in the face with ice and i genuinly believe my fingers were about to snap off!!! I got in and there was a group hug going on that i needed to get involved in, we mooched downstairs to the restauranty area where a s*** version of a pot noodle was about £7 that was fine id just starve altho people kept giving me their leftover food so i got fed for free :) we just relaxed dossing about, got my postcard and jumped on the train back all the clouds had cleared now so the view was a lot better the whole way down, when we got to the bottom we decided wed need food so went off to find the supermarket, even here the prices were rediculous i got a s***ty pot noodle thing and some crisps as wed found out that all we had for a 'kitchen'was a microwave and a kettle feckin joke! Also we found out that if you wanted a fork u had to pay the equivilant of €1 for a plastic fork f*** that! On principle i wasnt going to buy one i was going to wash my comb and use that as a fork cos thats how classy i am :) on the evening there wasnt a whole lot to do so we just chillaxed chatting near the fire outside and in our room we did that for a few hours and went to bed ready for our journey to munich with a stop in liechtenstein on the way.
