Tuesday started fairly lazily so after our morning run along the lake we headed for brunch. Unfortunately not a Dubai brunch! It was very good though, we shared a chicken, bacon and waffle combo and a Ruben sandwich.
Our plan for the day had been to follow the Queenstown trail Northwards to the next town called Frankton. This took us along the edge of the lake and gave us more stunning views and also a look at some of the lovely houses that sit on the waters edge. Four hours, about 20km and a quick beer later we were back at the hotel. We then enjoyed some local fizz whilst getting ready for our evening meal at Fishbone restaurant. The meal was lovely with local produce used all round.
Wednesday started with a post run bacon roll on the balcony. The plan on this occasion was to walk south along the lake to see what we could see. This walk wasn't as long as Tuesday but a bit more rugged, Mandy chose sandals to wear. We ended up in Sunshine bay, just a small area next to the lake where we sat and had some crisps and threw some stones.
By the time we got back to town we were hungry again so we tried some pies from Ferg Bakery. We sat in the sun enjoying our pies and then strolled back to the hotel for a glass of wine on the balcony.
Wednesday evening we had an excursion planned on the TSS Earnshaw, an old steam boat that goes up and down the lake to a farm that shows off the workings of the area. More importantly it also does a BBQ buffet! The trip there was a pleasant 45 minutes, helped along by some wine. Once there we were shepherded into a lovely dining area, the buffet was ok and you could have as much as you wanted. So we did.
After the food there was a short Farm demo, some lovely collies working and then a sheep getting its haircut(unfortunately not by the collies). The boat was then ready to go and so we hoped on for the journey back for our last night in our Queenstown hotel.
