30hrs and a rat for a roommate....
So I suck at updating things when I'm having fun.....I am sorry everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I've been in Niagara Falls for the past few days and had a real mix of weather. The States side of falls is a bit disappointing, as far as the town goes - there's pretty much a casino and that's it . On the other hand the falls really are beautiful -if you ever have the chance please go. One piece of advice don't stay a whole week - 3 days tops is required.
So my journey to the falls required many hours aboard a Greyhound bus - an interesting experience worth the lack of sleep. You meet both interesting and very weird people. I came to Niagara Falls by way of Memphis, TN and Atlantic City, NJ.
So Memphis was wonderful. Was only there 2 days but Beale Street was amazing- if you like Blues and Jazz Music this is the place for you. It's blasting out from the bars and shops and it's infectious. If your like me, you can't help but dance and make a fool of yourself! Whilst in Memphis the cheapest accomadation I could find was a Days Inn (Elvis themed of course) next to Graceland. I never knew there were so many Elvis fans. It was really interesting though. If you get the chance go to Sun Studios and take a brief tour of Graceland (or at least drive past).
Another worthwhile thing to do in Memphis is the Civil Rights Museum, located on South Main (very cool coffee shop area) in the old Lorraine Motel. This is where Martin Luther King Jr was shot and its a fascinating place to go. Advice - its closed on Tuesdays but its still cool just to walk past.
From Memphis I traveled 30hrs to Atlantic City, where I spent less than 12hrs. Considering that it was almost 30 degrees celsius in Memphis the chilly 11 in Atlantic City was a shock. Things to do when your underage in Atlantic City - walk along the Boardway its really cool and you can always venture onto the Beach, even if it is covered in snow!
You may ask why I subjected myself to 30hrs on a bus and a hotel room with a rat as a roommate. Simple to those who know me, know I am basketball crazy...as the Atlantic 10 Conference was in Atlantic City I went to support the Saint Louis Billikens. I'm so proud of them they beat UMass (the number 2 seed) in overtime - every minute of that game was worth the bus journey!
So that's how I ended up in Niagara Falls. Tomorrow I go to Washington DC to visit Simone, Derek and Kendal so will post photos when I get there and updated you all more!
Hope you all still love me...
