Caught the shuttle bus from the airport to the hotel (Novotel Century ). We were travelling during peak hour so a very slow trip. I am amazed at the number of Teslas here. In the trip form the airport I saw about 20 of them. The room wasn't going to be ready until 12.00 so we had a wander around. On a recommendation from a friend I grabbed a pay as you go SIM card from 7-eleven. It is a CSL SIM card for $100 HK ($16 Aus) and gives me $100 HK of credit. I can use it up with 3gb of data over 7 days and My phone can be a hotspot for Karens phone. A good deal. Finally in the room to have a sleep and there is a building being demolished across the road. Trying to sleep with the tones of a jackhammer is interesting. Waking up we decided just to wander the streets having a nosey. My initial thought of the streets of Hong Kong is how much they look like Singapore. Still amazed at the amount of Teslas, about as common as seeing an Audi A4 in Aus. As advanced as some of the buildings look they still use bamboo for the scaffolding, regardless of how high. Came across the Hong King trams and they are really skinny but two stories high (see photos), they look like they will topple over with the slightest push or wind. Wandered just down from the hotel looking for places to eat and I think we stumbled into the Hong Kong equivalent of Kings Cross, girly bars and spruikers out front. Funnily enough they were right next door to the expats pubs, Churchills, Queen Elizabeth etc. Had a nice Chinese dinner off the main strip and we were the only none Chinese there. Great prices though, 650ml San Miguel equivalent of $5 Aus.
