Today felt more part of things and didn't have my driver come till 8.15 plenty of time for 9am start took some photos on the way. The river which we follow out of town is lined with wooden huts they use the river for everything sewage, garbage, washing ,fishing it's really disgusting and the huts are very basic. Last two days the locals have been taking them apart plank by plank seems they are being forced to move since the authorities want to clean up the river for two reasons firstly the clogged up river floods when the rains come and also it's on the tourist trail out to Tonle Sap the lake the tourists visit. Don't know where the people are moving to but will ask. Lung my teacher is still a bit suspicious of me but the ice is breaking and I helped him in his English class today by pronouncing the words -- hedgehog, robin, badger and other birds and animals the kids will never have seen . Taught them to roll their rs they found it very funny. I had to take an art lesson ---- not my forte but they enjoyed drawing themselves and adding their identifying characteristics and likes and dislikes. They all try so hard. Lunch is two hours - good when it's do hot but long . Off to the "coffee shop" again but a great way to chat to the other volunteers. Today we had Alan and his wife here for 8 weeks writing a new curriculum, Ishmael and Amber married couple of Indian origin but British and very well travelled, Beth (American) and French husband thomas and Sally from Liverpool on a gap trip been in India and going to Myanmar next .
